How do Event Automations work?

Learn how Event Automations work, how check-in can automatically update people's information, and which automations are currently available.

Written by Karen Assis

Automations allow actions performed during an event, such as a participant check-in, to automatically trigger other actions in the system.

With this feature, information can be updated in people's profiles without requiring the church team to make manual changes after the event.

How do automations work?

An automation uses a specific action as a trigger.

In Events, this trigger can be related to a person's participation in the event through check-in.

When the configured conditions are met, the system automatically performs the defined action.

For example:

A person checks in to the event → the system updates information in their profile.

This helps keep information up to date and reduces manual tasks for the church team.

Which automations are available?

Currently, the Baptism Registration automation is available.

With this automation, when a person checks in to a Baptism event, the system can automatically add information to their profile, such as:

  • Baptism Type;

  • Baptism Date;

  • Baptism-related notes.

You can also define when this information should be updated after check-in.

Is check-in important for the automation?

Yes. In the Baptism automation, a person's participation in the event, confirmed through ticket check-in, serves as the trigger for updating their profile.

For this reason, it is important to properly validate the tickets of the people who participated in the event.

Only participants who complete the check-in will have their information updated by the automation.
